- As per the official web portal of Navodaya Vidhayalaya student must not have been born 1.05.2005 to 30.04.2009.
- Candidate must have been appearing in Standard 5th during the application process.
- If the candidate has not attended or admitted to class 5th before 15th September 2024 is not eligible to apply.
- Candidates shall be passing Certificate ‘B’ competency course of National Institute of open schooling (NIOS) on or before 15th September 2024.
- Students who wish to appear under Rural quota must have passed Standard III, Class IV & Class V appeared for one academic year from rural region only. It is important to note that school must be government run or government aided.

- The examination duration for JNVST Standard VI would be two hours.
- The level of questions asked would be from Class V.
- The examination would be divided into three sections being Objective type only.
- Each question carries one mark.
- There will be 100 questions carrying 100 Marks.
- Examination language would be Hindi or English.
