Undoubtedly, GMAT is the traditional form of common entrance exam for management and business studies. GRE is new in terms of its world wide acceptability. For example, Harvard Business School has revealed that candidates who apply with a GMAT tend to do better in admissions than candidates who use the GRE despite the school stating they have no test preference.
What is Your Strength Quant or Verbal?
If your traits are strong in both the subjects and your B-school accepts both, then it’s your call to choose the apt test which suits you. The GRE Verbal section & emphasis on vocabulary can make it tougher for non-native speakers and those who dont regularly read complex literature. While the GMAT is considered to be tougher in the math department due to its data sufficiency questions.
At the end, both questions are conducted as standardized test for acquiring master degree program at international colleges. Both test have contents almost same with certain differences

(i) In GRE, AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) contains two essays:

- b. Analysis of an Argument
In GMAT there is one essay namely : Analysis of an Argument
- (ii) In GRE, verbal section focus on Vocabulary. GMAT triggers basic grammar rules like Sentence correction.
